Steve Kearney
A founding partner of KO, Steve Kearney has led communications for two governors, Cardinal William Keeler, a top DC lobbying firm and, since founding KO Public Affairs, has advised leading nonprofit and corporate clients, including more than two dozen Fortune 500 companies, on a broad range of communications matters. He has been a strategist on many of the MidAtlantic’s most challenging public policy and development projects, and has served as a consultant to European, South American and African governments seeking to improve relationships within the United States. He also helped lead debate prep for Governor Martin O’Malley’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Steve has been quoted in publications ranging from the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal to the Los Angeles Times and Washington Post — as well as Time magazine and Rolling Stone. His ads and video projects have won numerous national awards, including four Pollies, “the Oscars of political advertising.” USA Today described his work with Cardinal Keeler during the 2002 clergy abuse crisis as: “a needed model on how to rebuild trust.” Subsequently, he has served as an advisor to leaders of the Catholic Church on state, national and international matters.
Steve serves on the boards of the Maryland Catholic Conference, Maryvale Preparatory School, and the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks.
